French Fitness MSC10 MSC20 FSR10 FSR20 FSR50 FSR60 FSR70 FSR80 FSR90 FSR100 SRFT8 Comparison Chart
French Fitness multi-trainer systems combine a power rack, smith machine, and functional cable trainer into a single heavy-duty footprint. The MSC, SRFT, and FSR series give you different combinations of steel gauge, weight stacks, attachments, and max load ratings so you can build anything from a compact home setup to a serious semi-commercial training station.
This comparison chart breaks down key differences between the MSC10 and MSC20, the SRFT8 rack trainer, and the FSR10–FSR100 series, including steel thickness, smith and rack capacity, dual cable columns, weight stack configuration, and upgrade options. Use it to quickly see which unit best matches your space, budget, and training style—whether you want a plate-loaded starter rig, a rack-plus-cables workhorse, or a full 11-gauge, dual-stack FSR100 system with landmine, jammer arms, and optional upgrades.

Which French Fitness Multi-Trainer Should You Buy?
- Best Budget All-In-One Starter: Choose the French Fitness MSC10 if you want a basic smith + rack + cable column setup in a smaller footprint and you’re not chasing max loads or commercial duty.
- Best Value Heavy-Duty Starter: Pick the French Fitness MSC20 if you want thicker 12-gauge steel, landmine, and built-in lat/row while staying in a plate-loaded price range.
- Best Rack-Plus-Cables (No Smith): Go with the French Fitness SRFT8 if you already own a barbell and bench and just need a strong rack and dual cable columns with pull-ups and dips.
- Best Entry-Level FSR Combo: The French Fitness FSR10 is ideal if you want your first serious all-in-one with smith, half rack, cables, pull-ups, dips, and landmine, and you don’t mind plate-loading the cables.
- Best Mid-Tier Selectorized Option: Choose the French Fitness FSR50 or FSR60 if you want dual stacks and a full combo rack without stepping into 11-gauge pricing.
- Best Heavy Home or PT Studio Workhorse: The French Fitness FSR70 and FSR80 are sweet spots: dual 220 lb stacks (upgradable), strong rack and smith ratings, landmine, and optional leg press and jammer arms for more athletic work.
- Best for Maximum Cable Resistance: Go French Fitness FSR90 if you want a higher effective cable load via the 2:3 pulley ratio for advanced strength work without larger physical stacks.
- Best Flagship, 11-Gauge Build: Pick the French Fitness FSR100 or FSR100-CB if you want a true centerpiece: 11-gauge steel, high load ratings on every station, dual stacks with upgrade options, full smith and rack, and landmine plus optional lat/row and jammer integrations.
If your focus is value and versatility, start at FSR10–FSR50. If you want a system that can replace almost an entire commercial line-up in one footprint, the FSR70–FSR100 series is where you land.
FAQs
What is the main difference between MSC, SRFT, and FSR models?
MSC units are compact smith + rack + cable column combos with plate-loaded cables, SRFT8 is a rack-plus-dual-cable trainer without a smith, and FSR models are full hybrid systems with half rack, smith, and dual cable columns, often with integrated selectorized weight stacks and heavier steel gauges.
Are all French Fitness FSR models commercial grade?
Not all are fully commercial. Early FSR models use 14-gauge steel and are better suited for serious home and light-commercial use. The FSR100 and FSR100-CB step up to 11-gauge steel and higher load ratings, making them more appropriate for small commercial and high-volume private facilities.
Do I need selectorized stacks or are plate-loaded cables enough?
Plate-loaded systems like the MSC10, MSC20, FSR10, and FSR20 keep costs down and work well if you already own plates and don’t mind loading and unloading. Selectorized systems (FSR50 and up) are faster to adjust, better for shared use, and make drop sets and supersets much easier to run.
Which models include a smith machine?
Most MSC and FSR models include an integrated smith bar. The exception in this list is the SRFT8, which is a rack and dual cable trainer only. If you want guided bar work, stay within MSC10/MSC20 or any of the FSR units.
What should I measure before buying one of these systems?
You need enough floor space for the footprint plus extra depth for plates and barbell overhang, and enough height to perform pull-ups and overhead pressing inside the rack. Check each model’s stated length, width, and height, then add clearance for bench movement, plate storage, and walk-around space.
