Your heart rate response and muscle recruitment increases with your incline, while lowering the impact on your knees and ankles. The deck declines as much as 3 percent to recruit different leg muscles, helping you target and tone your lower body in a totally different way. Forty years of experience is behind our most advanced deck cushioning, Runners Flex cushioning, which gives you choice. Turn it on for superb impact absorption and joint comfort. Or, turn it off for a solid deck that locks out cushioning dampeners to feel more like running on the road. In the "on" position, the deck on the Commercial 2950 treadmill features full-deck cushioning with spring-encased dampeners at six points across the frame that absorb the shock of every step to reduce impact by 30%.
