The term "air" refers to the bumpers in the unit. In the regular Pro5 there are rubber bumpers, in the Pro5 Air there are compressed air bumpers. The rubber bumpers give the same resistance on each hertz setting whereas the air bumpers are adjustable and can be set for more or less stability. The lower the setting, the less stable the unit is going to be, the more of a workout the user will get.
